(PI: Professor Claire Parkinson, RA: Dr Lara Herring).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/multisensorymultispecies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multisensory multispecies storytelling to engage disadvantaged groups in changing landscape<\/a><\/strong>&#8216; (2020-2022). This continuation project is funded by The Vegan Society (PI: Professor Claire Parkinson, Co-Is: Dr Richard Twine, Dr Claire Blennerhassett, RA: Lara Herring).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u2018Pathways to Veganism: exploring effective messages in vegan transition\u2018<\/strong> (2018-2019). The Visual Consumption of animals: Challenging persistent binaries. <a href=\"https:\/\/parcari.wixsite.com\/watchinganimals2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Project-Web-site<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD Project: \u2018<strong>The Workplace Experiences of Qualified Veterinary Professionals in the UK who Identify as Ethical Vegans<\/strong>&#8216; (<a href=\"https:\/\/research.edgehill.ac.uk\/en\/persons\/donelle-gadenne\">Donelle Gadenne<\/a>). Completed. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD Project:\u00a0<strong>\u2018Reframing the animal\u2018<\/strong>\u00a0(EvaMarie Lindahl). Completed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CfHAS research theme:&nbsp;climate change&nbsp;and sustainability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This research theme&nbsp;focuses&nbsp;on relationships between climate change, sustainability, foods of animal origin, biodiversity loss&nbsp;and plant-based diets.&nbsp;Work in this area&nbsp;also&nbsp;explores human-animal relationships in the context of food and food systems, engaging with key themes of social justice and&nbsp;health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Understanding Vegan Transition<\/strong>. (2014-2018) This project (Dr. Richard Twine) examined veganism as an example of a sustainable food transition. Applying a practice theory framework to empirical data from qualitative interviews with a sample of UK based vegans, the project aims to yield conceptual tools which afford greater understanding of the experience and process of vegan transition. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Climate Crisis and other Animals<\/strong> (2019-2024 ). Dr. Richard Twine worked on a book manuscript on the role of human\/animal relations in the emergences, effects and mitigations of the climate crisis. This was published with Sydney University Press in April 2024. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CfHAS researchers (Professor Claire Parkinson and Dr Richard Twine) contributed to Sustainable Food Lancashire and to the development of the Sustainable Food Charter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD Project: Vegan men in animal activism \/ ecomasculinities (Cameron Dunnett). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD Project: Farmer transition and responses to sustainability policy (Kerri Waters). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CfHAS research theme:&nbsp;health and wellbeing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD Project: In January 2021 we welcomed a new PhD project on vegan transition, led by Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/research.edgehill.ac.uk\/en\/persons\/claire-blennerhassett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Claire Blennerhassett <\/a>as Director of Studies, Dr. <a href=\"http:\/\/richardtwine.com\">Richard Twine<\/a> as second supervisor. The PhD candidate is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edgehill.ac.uk\/profiles\/katherine-jones\/\">Katherine Jones<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PhD Project:<strong>\u00a0\u2018FEEDing the World? A \u2018Critical Animal Discourse Analysis of Global Food \/ Nutrition Discourse and Policy\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/research.edgehill.ac.uk\/en\/persons\/abigail-masefield\">Abigail Masefield<\/a>).
