Jimmy\nO\u2019Gorman is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Development, Management and Coaching in\nthe Department of Sport and Physical Activity where he teaches on the\nundergraduate Sports Development, Management and Coaching, and the MSc Sport,\nPhysical Activity and Mental Health programmes. He is a practicing professional\nacademy football coach, and holds the UEFA B license, the FA Youth Award,\nFutsal and talent identification qualifications. Jimmy\u2019s research is\nunderpinned by sociological and political science perspectives and focuses on\nthe welfare and well-being of sports workers, coach education, and the development,\nimplementation, and enactment of sport policy and programmes, ranging from\ncommunity\/grassroots to participation and performance contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jimmy\u2019s\nresearch and consultancy and evaluation work in these areas has informed the\ndevelopment of policy and practice of community and professional sport\norganisations, including; The Football Association\u2019s Charter Standard Programme\nfor grassroots football clubs, The Football Association\u2019s coach education\nprovision, The Football Association\u2019s Respect campaign and, The International\nCricket Council of Europe\u2019s participation strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
