Young sportswomen and sportsmen were given the platform\nto develop their own youth-led campaigns through which they raised awareness\namongst peers, in their own sport environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube aligncenter wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sport Respects Your Rights UK project\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OCUGR1iGCOc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> Sport Respects Your Rights UK project <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our campaign in the UK &#8211; initiated by a group of young people from rugby league &#8211; was a social media campaign using a simple hand-signal to highlight the Council of Europe\u2019s finding that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAvailable data suggest that about 1 in 5 children in Europe are victims of some form of sexual violence. It is estimated that in 70% to 85% of cases, the abuser is somebody the child knows and trusts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This campaign &#8211; #STOP1in5 &#8211; had fantastic support from the rugby league&nbsp;community and beyond: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-5 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" data-id=\"162\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/cpss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/239\/2019\/08\/1-in-5.jpg\" alt=\"An individual performing the &quot;one-in-five&quot;
