{"id":3321,"date":"2025-05-29T07:33:42","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:33:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/cpss\/?page_id=3321"},"modified":"2025-05-29T07:33:42","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:33:42","slug":"council-of-europe-work","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/cpss\/council-of-europe-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Council of Europe work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor Melanie Lang is working with the Council of Europe (CoE) and the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) to promote child safeguarding in sport for member states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Period:\u00a0December 2023 \u2013 December 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of her role on the CoE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/sport\/researchers-academics\">Pool of international Experts on Safe Sport<\/a>, Melanie has collaborated on various projects to enhance knowledge and practice in child safeguarding in sport across Europe and beyond. Working with other Pool members and as a consultant to the EPAS Secretariat, Melanie\u2019s work has included the development of a <a href=\"https:\/\/rm.coe.int\/61-compendium-of-resources-on-safe-sport\/1680b2ac47\">compendium of resources<\/a> on safe sport, a <a href=\"https:\/\/rm.coe.int\/glossary-on-safe-sport\/1680b2ac48#:~:text=This%20Glossary%20on%20Safe%20Sport%20was%20developed%20by,the%20work%20on%20safeguarding%20of%20children%20in%20sport.\">glossary<\/a> of key terms, and guidelines on safer recruitment in sport for council member states and sport stakeholders (due for release late 2025).
