The second Lancashire Community Climate Action Forum (LCCAF)<\/strong> was held at UCLan <\/strong>on Thursday June 6th 2024<\/strong>, and co-badged by Chamber Low Carbon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day brought together the LancsCAN membership which currently comprises almost 200 people, alongside council representatives and business leaders from all over Lancashire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an opportunity for attendees to come together, highlight their climate action related projects, problem solve and share best practice. Workshops where guided by experts in the key climate action areas of energy, food, transport, and resources. Giving attendees the opportunity to see important large-scale projects being carried out in these areas, imparting that knowledge, and learning while also providing expertise to solve problems for attendees in these key areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The secondary focus of the event was to ask the question \u201cwhat business can do for community groups\u201d with the aim to help community groups grow the scale and scope of their projects with much-needed support. At the start of the event, there was a Roundtable Discussion where community groups had the opportunity to ask questions to key players. We also hoped to partner businesses with community groups to increase the success rate of their projects, and provide a venue to share knowledge, share resources, funding, advice, and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radical action is needed and rapid change to reach our climate action goals in a meaningful timescale, whether a volunteer, community group member, council or business representative we are all essential in the fight against climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
