The cycle shelter at St Annes-on-the-Sea Railway Station (at Lytham St Annes, FY8 2JE) is having a revamp as part of the celebrations for the Station\u2019s 150th anniversary. It will feature an attractive vinyl covering of the All-Weather Lifeboat on the beach at St Anne’s, taken by local Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) supporter and professional photographer, Gregg Wolstenholme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised by the South Fylde Line Community Rail Partnership and LancsCAN member Community Rail Lancashire<\/a> alongside the St Annes Lifeboat Station, the celebrations will take place on Monday 21st August<\/strong>, commencing with the unveiling of the cycle shelter, followed by activities at the Lifeboat Station \u2013 all welcome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families are being encouraged to sign up using this ‘event brite<\/a>‘ link in advance for the free short cycle ride to the Lifeboat Station, which will leave the railway station after the unveiling. Bikes can be borrowed free of charge too! For more details of the event, please contact C<\/a>aroline Holden<\/a> at Community Rail Lancashire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Lifeboat Station<\/strong>, the Shanty Singers will be performing some of their extensive repertoire of songs. There will be an opportunity to tour the Lifeboat station and, \u2018cycle for a fruit smoothie\u2019. In addition, all children coming along will be given a free book about \u2018Arlo\u2019s Adventures\u2019 by Bessie Matthews. The book looks at how to stay safe on the railway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to welcoming the public to the unveiling and the Lifeboat station on the 21st August and encourage everyone to come along. The project has been funded by Community Rail Network with Lancashire County Council supporting the cycle ride and cycle for a smoothie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
