What are friendship books?
Friendship books were a bit like autograph albums except students could add pretty much anything personal they liked: drawings, sayings, dedications, poems, paintings etc. Friendship books were passed around a graduating cohort so that each member could add their own parting wish in a variety of ways. The student who made the content would usually sign, and often date, somewhere on the page where it fitted with their design. You could construct your own page of a friendship book.
