On Wednesday 29 March 2023, Dan Copley and Professor Alyson Brown were thrilled to be able to travel to London for the History and Archives in Practice Conference. The one-day conference was held by the Royal Historical Society and the Institute of Historical Research at Senate House in London and involved presenters from across the country working on a diverse range of exciting public engagement projects. Dan and Alyson gave a presentation about the research and community engagement work that has been undertaken on the ‘Women in the Archives’ project. Their paper also focused on the work of Research Catalyst and how historians and archivists at Edge Hill University have been collaborating.

On 27 April 2023, the History and Archives in Practice Conference was followed up by a further online panel session which included the work of Professor Helen Newall on the ‘Story of the Great War, Will Bradshaw’s Journal’ project. Professor Alyson Brown also attended to support on the wider activities of our research group, Research Catalyst.
