Jessie Reid Crosbie with her brother and great nieces, Christmas 1957.

Members of Research Catalyst are actively making use of the Edge Hill University archives and getting the fascinating stories about past graduates into popular magazine etc. We are helping to develop an aspect of work on the history of education which focuses on how those trained in teacher training colleges in the Victorian and Edwardian eras used their training and how they contributed to their communities. An article on the life of Jessie Reid Crosby, a prominent educationalist in Liverpool during the first half of the twentieth century has been published in the magazine of the Historical Association, The Historian (Issue 158 summer 2023).
