Dan Copley (Archivist) was the guest speaker at the July 2023 meeting of the Ormskirk and District Family History Society (ODFHS). Dan spoke to the members about the collections held in the Edge Hill University archives and how they can be accessed for public research. He shared information about the research that university staff have been undertaking into the lives of some of Edge Hill’s earliest students, including some of the remarkable stories and characters that the research has revealed, using case studies as examples of how the archive can be utilised for research into individuals. The talk was extremely well received, with many members asking questions and discussing their own research with Dan after the talk.
