Ongoing culture wars, political polarisations, and the rise of the far-right have brought into focus the need for education that equips young people with the skills and resources necessary to navigate encounters with conflict, difference, and plurality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colleagues at Edge Hill University recently secured funding for a research and knowledge exchange project with Culham St Gabriel’s<\/a> called ‘Teaching through Division’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This project advocates for the role religion and worldviews education can play in helping young people navigate \u2018difference\u2019 productively. By collaborating with young people, teachers, community partners, and faith leaders, the project aims to produce a set of resources (pedagogical approaches and other facilitative strategies) to guide discussions around issues of plurality and difference in the religion and worldviews classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Open to all, the purpose of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for teachers, academics, partnering stakeholders, and other interested delegates to explore some of the issues relevant to the project, and future possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
