The project involved conducting several focus groups with local residents to explore:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>barriers to accessing affordable, healthy, nutritious foods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the acceptability of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainweb.org\/foodcoops\/\">food-co-ops<\/a> in addressing key challenges to food access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The findings are being used by The Larder Lancashire (and partners) to secure funding to improve food access in the local area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-f56f613f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"234\" height=\"229\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.edgehill.ac.uk\/sustainnet\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/280\/2026\/08\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14557\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quote (Vivian Ochiagha)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Greenhouse environmental conditions and plant stress<\/strong> \u2013 In collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/flavourfresh.com\/\">FlavourFresh Salads<\/a>, undergraduate plant science student, Sarah, researched the impact of light levels on plant health. This is in the final year for undergraduate students or at the end of the academic calendar for postgraduate students.
