Stephen Sykes from Chamber Low Carbon<\/span><\/a> explains how his organisation helps local businesses decarbonise their activities and operations, and become more sustainable. Chamber Low Carbon was formed as a partnership between East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Businesswise Solutions Ltd and BOOST to help Lancashire businesses save money by reducing their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This \u00a36m EU European Regional Development Fund part-funded programme is committed to the provision of a free suite of services aimed to help businesses improve energy and environmental efficiencies, introduce on site renewable energy generation and save money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chamber Low Carbon also helps businesses who are developing new low carbon technologies and need to get it into the market, see it manufactured locally or find their dream customer. Stephen Sykes provides an overview of this important sustainability and business work in our local region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chamber Low Carbon was formed as a partnership between East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Businesswise Solutions Ltd, and BOOST to help Lancashire businesses save money by reducing their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bio:
Stephen has over 30 years of experience across industry, voluntary and public sectors. Initially, in the chemical manufacturing industry, his career has included multiple roles across the Groundwork Federation over an 11-year period and latterly private consultancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of Stephen’s experience covers environmental management and impact, especially integration into diverse project offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen is active in numerous non-profit roles including Chair of the Merseyside Environmental Trust, former Chair of Liverpool Chamber\u2019s Energy and Environment Members Forum, as a Trustee of Faiths4Change and Nature Connected, and Co-ordinator of Green Drinks Liverpool \u2013 part of the Green Drinks global movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
