From the International Justice and Human Rights Centre at Edge Hill University
About the Podcast
Welcome to Edge of Justice, a new legal podcast.
On this podcast we really want to do things differently. As a university-based Research Centre, it’s our job to shed light on some of the most important legal issues in our field. And this isn’t just about sharing research and information for people you may never even heard of. It’s about sharing stories and ideas about people, real world issues, with real expert insights to help you understand what’s going on out there.
Hosted by Patrick Butchard, every episode tackles a major global topic, brings you expert insights, and asks one big overarching question: What does true justice look like?
In our debut episode, we focus on a subject deeply personal to Edge Hill: the war in Ukraine and its profound impact on legal research.
For two years, Edge Hill University has been twinned with the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In this episode, we are proud to welcome two Ukrainian colleagues now based at Edge Hill to share their powerful personal stories and groundbreaking research:
- Dr Olena Chub – Senior Lecturer in Law and member of the International Justice and Human Rights Centre.
- Dr Maryna Utkina – Senior Lecturer in the School of Law and Criminal Justice and Deputy Director of the Centre.
