Please note that due to some isolated pockets of civil unrest in certain areas of the UK at the moment the conference organising team have taken the reluctant decision to cancel the group visit part of this programme.
You are welcome to join a local walk in the Ormskirk area or if you prefer to remain on campus, a short exploration of Edge Hill’s own history is available.
If you wish to travel to Liverpool please note that the Edge Hill organising team will not be hosting an organised programme of activities.

A return ticket from Ormskirk to Liverpool costs approximately £8. Further information about Mersey rail ticket prices can be found here. Some areas to visit include: Liverpool Albert Dock: Liverpool’s renovated docks with a variety of up market restaurants, cafés and museums. Map Bold Street: Pedestrian area with a large number of independent restaurants with a variety of food and prices. Side streets from here have many bars and pubs. Map Liverpool One: Large shopping centre with chain shops and restaurants. Map Mathew Street: Busy area for music, including the famous ‘Cavern Club’. Many bars, pubs and clubs, many featuring live music every night. Map St John’s Gardens, Walker Art Gallery & World Museum: Map Lark Lane: A short walk from St Michaels station (two stops on the train from the city centre), Lark Lane has a selection of independent bars and restaurants and is next to Sefton Park, which is lovely to walk around.
