Food waste and the climate crisis: what can we do in a system with waste designed in and how might we want to change it?
This webinar will explore the impact that food waste has on the climate and our environments. What can individuals, communities and institutions do to tackle food waste in a global food system which often has waste built into the business model?
Rachel Marshall has a PhD in soil science and a research background in the impacts of waste and agricultural management on soil health. She now works on a community climate action project called Closing Loops – which is looking to stimulate a regenerative and zero-waste economy in Lancaster District. It is part of the wider work of FoodFutures – North Lancashire’s sustainable food partnership.
