The Lancashire Climate Action Network (LancsCAN) are excited to announce the planning of a groundbreaking conference for 16-19 year olds on Wednesday 30th October 2024 at Blackpool Sixth Form College.

The key aims of the event will be:

  • Engaging young people in tackling the causes of climate change and move to a more sustainable economy and society
  • Informing young people of the growing wealth of opportunities for study and careers linked to sustainability
  • Boosting young people’s knowledge and confidence about how they can help shape the response to climate change in Lancashire and how they can act as agents of change in their communities
  • Generating ideas for further involvement and action including the opportunity for delegates to lead a climate-related project in their community, drawing on what they have learned from the conference

The conference programme is being developed in close collaboration with young people, sustainability and education
professionals and academics. There will be a lively and vibrant mix of expert inputs, hands-on sessions and round-table discussions.

If you are interested in bringing a group of young people, please complete this short survey www.surveymonkey.com/r/LYCC24 by Friday 24th May 2024. (date has been extended)
