Each volunteer bring different skills, knowledge, interests and come from different backgrounds and so it is a good chance to meet new friends who share a passion for the park and nature.

The Friends meet monthly on a Saturday between 10am to 12 noon. The park is a 60 hectares in size with a mixture of grassland, woodland, ponds, brook and buildings in the middle. It is used for a variety of activities through the year including football, junior park run, Leyland Festival, Bonfire night, music festivals, and the model railway. The park is a special place, popular not only for the town but the wider county and beyond. So it is important for the park to be conserved not only for the intrinsic value but also a place for exercise, exploring, engagement and enjoying nature.
