Jenny Barrett is currently working towards a monograph that opens up studies of the Western to the exciting field of memory studies, encouraging us to recognise that movies and TV play a part in creating a ‘collective memory’ of US history, specifically the ‘Wild West’, which has an impact on those who have been historically marginalised.

Elke Weissmann is working on a project with Trisha Dunleavy at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, that examines how television drama adapts in an environment of increasing transnationalisation and where different platforms (from traditional broadcasting to streaming) compete and work with each other.

She is also working on a British Academy funded project that looks at Community-led Television, Local Voice and Climate Change. This is in collaboration with the Heseltine Institute at the University of Liverpool.
