SDGs Goal 5 – Gender Equality. An opportunity to reflect on progress made, to call for change, and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
International Women’s Day 2025, will be celebrated under the theme “Accelerate Action” the urgency of addressing systemic barriers to gender equality takes center stage. Despite progress, significant challenges persist, including gender-based violence, unequal pay, and underrepresentation in decision-making roles.
SDG 5 emphasizes not only the moral imperative of gender equality as a fundamental human right but also its critical role in fostering sustainable development. By dismantling entrenched biases and advancing inclusive policies, this goal envisions a world where women and girls can thrive without fear of discrimination or violence, contributing fully to society’s economic, political, and social spheres
