The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, with a focus on Good Health and Wellbeing, has a key target (3C) to ‘substantially increase …development, training and retention of the health workforce’.  There is a global lack of capacity to develop the educators of the future healthcare workforce and without increased numbers of trained educators there will be limited expansion in the future healthcare workforce.

Edge Hill University Medical School (EHUMS) has recently collaborated with colleagues in South Africa and Iran to understand the complexity of how newly trained educators can rapidly cascade their expertise to other educators. This research has led to a new collaboration with the Medical School at the University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil.
