Wednesday 3rd November – This short dance film performance will be shown on two projectors on a loop in the Arts Centre foyer areas throughout the day.

Biophilia (2021)

Performed and filmed outdoors in her local woodland area, Esmee Collins-Murphy’s short dance film Biophilia is inspired by Japanese Forest Bathing, which explores our innate connection with nature, and how that nourishes our wellbeing. The student choreographer and performer questions; ‘Nature provides opportunity and beauty for us, but what do we give back in return? I wanted this dance film to highlight the importance of caring for our planet, because we cannot continue to expect nature to protect our wellbeing if we do not protect nature in return.’
