Dr Mike Hartill has given sexual abuse victims a voice

Dr Mike Hartill, Reader in the Sociology of Sport, initiated the EU-funded project ‘Voices for Truth and Dignity’ (VOICE) in 2015. The project, led by the German Sport University, Cologne, is a collaboration between seven European universities plus sport agencies and victim-support organisations.

Child protection expert calls for survey into gender based violence in sport

One of the country's leading experts in child protection in sport is calling for a UK survey to reveal the magnitude of gender based violence in sport. Melanie Lang, Senior Lecturer in Child Protection in Sport at Edge Hill University, is calling on sports funding bodies to commission the survey.

Edge Hill researcher leading EU study into violence and abuse in sport

An Edge Hill University researcher will represent the UK as a subject expert in the field of gender-based violence and abuse in sport in a new study funded by the European Commission's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.
